Tim is an independent filmmaker specialising in stories from the outdoors.
Passionate about documentary; his work includes award-winning feature-length film, broadcast television episode, and viral web content. He strives for a cinematic feel to his work whilst prioritising dynamic story structure.
With a thirst for adventure and new challenges, his work and travels have taken him around the world. Highlights include using paragliders to film ski exploration in the Arctic, shooting in the waves amidst surf exploration in the Indian and Pacific oceans, filming from helicopters in the Alps, and simply the fortune of being lucky to meet all sorts of inspiring people along the way. Of particular note are his collaborations with mentor filmmaker Guido Perrini.
Tim also holds a degree in Zoology, is a certified Divemaster, and sells his photos to international publications.
Multiple Sony/Canon cameras; 4K 24-120fps, 2K 24-240fps; ProRes or Uncompressed-raw option. Various lenses; fixed and portable lighting; tripods and slider; shotgun and lavalier microphones; monitor and EVF; sound recorders and headphones; ronin gimbal; water housing; and drone coming soon. Always comfortable adapting to alternative cameras and accessories where required on specific shoots.
POST PRODUCTION GEAR & SOFTWARE
Set up for 6K workflow both in-studio and on location; using SATA drive arrays in RAID 5. Predominantly editing with Final Cut X; using Adobe After Effects for motion graphics. On medium-large projects the sound is mixed in Avid Pro Tools; colour correction and grading in DaVinci Resolve.
